New Beginings

Ever wonder what you can do, here is a list of some of the people Elder Schmeltzer has encountered and is working with toward their baptism:

Lucy V. - Lucy finalizing her divorce in a few weeks and is ready to start her life in a new direction . She's scheduled to be baptized on Sunday, April 21. She has a 2 year old daughter. She's very cool. Elder Schmeltzer taught her once or twice when he first came to Odorkor and she wasn't able to make time for the missionaries. She came back to church and has become solid over the last month.

Delight A. - Single mother who is 33 years old. She's scheduled to be baptized on Sunday, April 21. Very nice. A little shy at first but once you get to know her she is just so awesome!

Bosker E. - Husband of Christina, recent convert who was baptized a few weeks ago. He has been an Elder in a Pentecostal church. He's so funny and great! He's like 60+ years. Bosker is scheduled to be baptized on the 28th and is looking forward to it.

George B. - His son is a missionary in Elder Robertson's [a missionary that lives in the same apartment as Elder Schmeltzer] home ward. Elder Robertson met him on the road and wanted to teach and baptize him. However George is in our area. I hope I'll be able to baptize him soon to make Elder Robertson happy as well.

Francis O. - A recent convert has brought him to church two weeks in a row. He lives about 1 hour away so we're planning to go there Friday. His education isn't very good but we hope for progress and to see him commit to be baptized soon.

Stanley - A referral from a less active family we've been visiting. He lived in Nigeria for a while. He was supposed to come to church but the less active family who promised to bring him didn't come. This Sunday we'll pick him, along with the less active family.

Adolfine - She sells fried rice at a food stand. We buy from her all the time. She's come to church once and on this last Sunday she said she was washing so couldn't come. We're hoping she's going to come again and show some commitment.

What can you do - continue to pray for the Spirit to testify of truth to these and others.  Help them overcome the difficulties and challenges they may face to to have courage and determination to do what Heavenly Father wants in their lives.
