Ghana In the News

From Deseret News, Published: Wednesday, May 23 2012 1:52 p.m. MDT

Our take: In the African country of Ghana, nearly one-third of the population struggles with extreme poverty and has difficulty accessing food and healthcare. Thirty-five percent of Ghana's hospitals are run by faith-based organizations, placing a burden on finances to pay for equipment like X-ray machines and surgical items. Groups like International Aid have been raising money to support faith-based hospitals so they can continue to offer health services and minister hope and faith to the sick.
